COMMISSION ON ELECTIONS

VOX POPULI, VOX DEI - The voice of the people is the voice of God.

The USLS Commission on Elections is one of the independent Commissions of the USLS-University Student Government as stated in Article XIII Sec. 1 of the Student Organization Constitution of 2022.

The Commission is geared towards empowering Lasallian student political participation by educating and empowering all students of the university to practice their right to suffrage.

MISSION STATEMENT

The University of St. La Salle Student Government
shall, through its Commission on Elections, ensure a

fair, orderly, and credible election.

THE 2024 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Chapter II Sec. 6 of  the OMNIBUS ELECTION CODE OF 2022 states that the Commission shall be composed of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and five (5) Commissioners.

ELECTORAL AFFAIRS 

  • In charge of internal and external linkages;

  • Along with the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, meets up with the party representatives (Secretary Generals) to discuss election guidelines;

  • Serves as the first line of communication to all electoral queries from the public;

  • Manages the filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) and makes sure it is sealed and secured; and

  • Spearheads the Orientation and Oath Taking Ceremony of the Special and General Elections 

FINANCE

  • Keeps track of finances, oversees the coordination and communication with the Commission on Audit (COA) and Business Office; and

  • Oversees the budget, liquidation, and spearheads the Transparency Meeting at the end of each semester.

HUMAN RESOURCE

  • In charge of coordinating communications and disseminating information to all current Board of Election Inspectors;

  • Spearheads and manages recruitment, training, administering, and termination of Commission's members based on the HR Codes and Guidelines

  • Supervises assessment and evaluation process within the members of the Commission;

  • In charge of other electoral gimmicks and other logistical concerns like reservation of venue, equipment, microphones, and DLP's, communicating with the AVRC, ITC.

MEDIA AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • In charge of making the publication materials in line with the organization's activities and updates; 

  • Covers the activities of the Commission and updates the photo albums of the Commission's official Facebook page; and

  • In charge of boosting the engagements and activities of the Commission through marketing gimmicks and strengthened information dissemination to reach a wider audience.

TECHNICALITIES

  • In charge of live online coverage of the different programs and activities of the Commission;

  • Manages online virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and other technical applications needed to conduct different programs associated with the Commission and its internal and external partners; and;

  • Coordinates with the ITC in prepping the election program/system with an updated voter's list for the currentsemester.
